Waterfalls

Winter Water

Despite frequent encounters in my ramblings, I long avoided waterfalls as clichéd photographic subjects. Then I began thinking of them more elementally, as interactions of water and rock, and became interested in trying to see them from this perspective. At times the waterfall becomes a minimal composition of light and dark, at others the relationship is made more complex by the inclusion of plant life or ice and snow. This series is still very much in progress.
