Winter Water

These photographs were all made from a single spot above Tepee Creek in the Gallatin mountains, on a warm day in late March, at about noon. It was a good time for a break. After loosing a light drizzle earlier, the dark clouds had retreated south. Sunlight brightened the snow fields. Pine trees, scattered and in groves, boldly accentuated the cadences of gully and ridge, nearby hill and distant range. If it's possible to drink music with the eyes in silence, this was my chance.
